Princess Tortuga (Captain of Da Toe's Army - c/o '24)

Sydni "Princess Tortuga" Mellor is a stand out Junior in the Museum Management program and is the current Captain of Da Toe's Army, a collection of rag-tag docents dedicated to well being of the tortoise residents living in our Gonzalez Tortoise Garden. Sydni first took on the responsibilities of Tortoise Keeper at the PWM during the 21-22 school year and continues on with her duties monitoring the general health of our African spurred tortoise, Da Toe, and our CA desert tortoises, Horton & Morton. Sydni, along with the devoted tortoise soldiers of Da Toe's Army, faithfully come back to school every evening to lock up our chelonian friends in their barns before sunset.

A dedicated animal and wildlife advocate, Sydni also loves horseback riding, hiking, and anything outdoor-related. However, Sydni's true passion is for flight; she's an avid small-airplane fanatic (and has already put in dozens of hours on a 152 Cessna) and hopes, one day, to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. Fly high, Princess!
